The problem
Festival information is often spread across organisers' own websites, ticketing platforms and social channels. That makes it hard to form a single overview when someone wants to find a festival by time, location or interest rather than already knowing its name.
FestivalOversigt is an independent MKP Digital product that brings Danish festivals together in a public, structured platform. Its purpose is to make discovery concrete without presenting unverified information as fact.
Product and requirements
The product needs to offer a useful overview across many festivals while leading visitors to an individual festival with the information relevant to planning a visit.
This includes:
- Public discovery without an account or closed administration area
- Search and filtering that narrow down festivals by concrete needs
- Individual festival pages that can be read and shared independently
- Clear treatment of practical details and sources when information has been verified
- Responsive layouts for both mobile and desktop
The solution
The home page combines a direct route into festival discovery with an overview of upcoming festivals. Visitors can search by festival, city or genre and combine that with date, festival type and price.

The platform is a data-backed public web app rather than a static campaign site. The same information model presents festivals consistently, while each festival still has its own page and relevant external links.
Festival data and discovery
The festival overview provides a filterable list where visitors can work with location, date range, region, festival type, music genre, price and practical considerations such as camping or family friendliness. Results can be sorted by date or price.
This makes the platform useful both for visitors exploring broadly and for those already looking for a specific area, time or kind of festival.

Festival pages and structured content
Each festival has its own public page with a consolidated presentation. Depending on the verified information, the page can show dates, venue, address, price, genre, artists, practical information, ticket links and official sources.
The structure creates a clear path from a broad overview to a specific festival and keeps information in a form suitable for public discovery.

Technical choices
FestivalOversigt is built with React and TypeScript and uses Supabase with PostgreSQL for structured festival and event data. The technical foundation supports a platform where content must not only be displayed, but also found, sorted and maintained across many public pages.
SEO and public data structure
FestivalOversigt works with public pages for both festival overviews and individual festivals. The structured festival data is used to create consistent titles, content and navigation across the platform's discovery pages.
SEO and structured event data are intentional parts of the product because a festival platform needs to be discoverable both through its own search experience and through public routes on the web.
Responsive experience
On mobile, the navigation and search flow adapt to a narrow viewport while keeping the same central filters available. This preserves the discovery experience rather than simply shrinking the desktop page.
Status
FestivalOversigt is live at festivaloversigt.dk and is owned, developed and operated by MKP Digital. The product continues to be developed as a public, data-backed festival discovery platform for Denmark.
